We decided to take a few days to recover from jet lag, which we spent in Lahaina, meaning "cruel sun". My scalp was burnt! We spent 5 days in tourist mode. The volcano (Haleakala) and the road to Hana were the major targets, with much whale watching in between. Another taste of Camp Keanae before the feast.
The "Ekahi" shuttle set the tone, a twelve seater minibus with the new recruits, feeling a little nervous, and perhaps all with different reasons. As we approached, the rock and roll music was silent.
